COMING TO UCAD
We recommend to choose an appartment in the following areas for which coming to UCAD may be simply done by foot.
- Fann, Point E : very closed to UCAD, approximately 10 mn de marche
- Mermoz, Sicap : closed to UCAD, approximately 10 mn de marche
Wherever you leave in Dakar, Busses and Taxis may be used to reach UCAD. However, for a confortable trip, we recommend taxis instead of busses. Taxi prices are about entre 20 F CFA ~0.03 Eur. to 100 F CFA ~0.15 Eur. each 200 meters, and prices are always negotiable !
The Bus Company is called Dakar Dem Dikk. The network with every line may be found at http://www.demdikk.com.
Hotels
Some apartment of the university has been negociated by the ORPA local organizing committee for ORPA participants at reduced prices. The list is given below :
In UCAD
- 12 apartments : 25 000 FCFA / night in case of 1 persons, 35 000 FCFA / night for 2 persons.
- 8 studios (1 persons each at max.) : 15 000 FCFA / night.
In Mermoz (residential area near l'UCAD)
- 8 apartments (2 persons each at max.) : 25 000 FCFA / night in case of 1 persons, 35 000 FCFA / night for 2 persons.
- 16 studios (1 persons each at max.) : 15 000 FCFA / night.
